About Chaka Stones

The idea for the pendants was first conceived during Chaka’s time in the Tunisian refugee camp Choucha. After making some initial designs with the few basic tools available, Chaka found his work was well received by people visiting the camp. Through encouragement and support, Chaka decided to pursue his work as a means of supporting himself financially and regaining his independence. He joined a local residential project in Tataouine, run by a small NGO, Planète Positive, which aims to provide accommodation and support for refugees in Tunisia. The project has given Chaka the means to develop his work and begin the process of establishing a small business.

After all the difficulties I’ve been through, I succeed in conceiving positive thoughts. To take something we can use to fight, to hurt people, and create something for everyone to wear, to make themselves more beautiful.  - Chaka

All profits are sent directly to Chaka. This website is run with the help of volunteers while the business is in it’s early stages.
